Frequently asked questions

The majority of our customers have very specific needs and so will know exactly what they require.
For the remainder of us we have gathered some of the questions we are most frequently asked
  1. 0
How much notice should I give for a delivery?
This will depend on how much material you need and how busy the schedule is here. Normally 24 hours is enough.
  2. 1
    Where do you deliver to?
We deliver to approximately 50 miles from the base here at Cairndow but please just call as we will do our best to assist with most requests.
  3. 2
What type of concrete do I need?
It's vital to get expert advice. Your Builder, QS or Architect will know the mix recipe needed. It depends on the structure, the finish and the environment. So, internal, external, marine etc.
  4. 4
How much concrete do I need?
Concrete is sold in cubic meters. Multiply the length by breadth by depth of the space. So a 3m x 6.1m garage with a typically 16cm deep base would be 2.9 cubic meters. If your shape is more complicated, the Bonnar Services page has a calculator link
  5. 5
What colour is your crushed rock?
Bonnar quarries whinstone from the hillside here at Cairndow. Mostly blue but with flecks of brown and white. It has a soft grey finish ideal for pathways, drives or decorative planting
  6. 5
How do you deliver your stone?
We can deliver our crushed rock loose to be tipped straight from the lorry or in 1 meter cube bulk bags which our mobile crane (HIAB) will off load to the safest suitable area near your project.
